Performance Behind the Frame.
High-performance aluminum windows and doors coordinated around thermal efficiency, air and water resistance, structural demand, acoustic comfort and glazing requirements.
PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK
Design Targets Need to Work Together.
A window or door package is a system of interacting components. Frame design, thermal break, glass, spacer, gasket, drainage, hardware, panel size and installation interfaces all influence final performance. ALTOP approaches these requirements as one coordinated package.
THERMAL PERFORMANCE
Control Heat Flow Through Frame and Glass.
Thermally broken aluminum profiles and insulated glazing can be coordinated around project energy targets. Useful design inputs include target U-value, SHGC, climate zone, orientation, glass area and applicable code or consultant requirements.
Key considerations: thermal break geometry · insulated glass · Low-E coating · spacer system · frame-to-glass ratio · solar gain · condensation risk.
AIR & WATER
Keep Weather Outside the Building Envelope.
Air leakage and water penetration performance depend on sealing strategy, pressure equalization, drainage, gasket continuity, hardware compression and installation interfaces. Exposure and opening type should be considered early in system selection.
STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE
Size, Wind and Glass Weight Matter.
Large openings require realistic review of profile strength, mullion spans, panel dimensions, glass weight, hardware capacity and project wind conditions. Structural selection should follow project-specific requirements rather than a generic maximum-size promise.
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE
Quiet Interiors Require the Whole Assembly.
Acoustic performance is influenced by glass make-up, air space, laminate selection, frame sealing, opening type and installation. Where an acoustic target is important, the window or door should be reviewed as a complete assembly rather than by glass rating alone.
GLASS PERFORMANCE
Glass Is Part of the System Strategy.
Depending on the project, glazing may need to address thermal insulation, solar control, safety, impact resistance, acoustics, visual quality and structural loads. We coordinate frame and glass options around the project’s actual priorities.
TESTING & DOCUMENTATION
Verify What the Project Actually Requires.
Testing and certification requirements vary by market, system and project. ALTOP can coordinate available technical documentation and supplier test information for the selected system. Project-specific compliance should be confirmed against the applicable specification, code and authority requirements.
